As the lead singer of hair-metal heroes Warrant, Lane penned power ballads (see: the most excellent lighter-waver 'Heaven') and rockers ('Uncle Tom's Cabin') alike. Even if he'd only written 'Cherry Pie,' a song whose playfully risque video is forever burned into the brains of a generation of young men, his place in rock history would be secure.
