Back to Alt-Rock Then and Now
Red Hot Chili Peppers + Maroon 5

Red Hot Chili Peppers lead singer Anthony Keidis is in a funk-rock band, has trouble keeping his shirt on, and is actually better at ballads than he is at "rocking." Maroon 5's Adam Levine, not coincidentally, is in a funk-rock band, has trouble keeping his shirt on, and is better at ballads than he is at "rocking," too.
DNA Evidence: It was entirely acceptable for heshers to slow dance to Red Hot Chili Peppers' 'Under the Bridge' at high school dances back in the day when ballads by less tough bands would send the boys to go smoke in the washrooms. Maroon 5 'She Will Be Loved' serves the same purpose in 2012.
