Back to Alt-Rock Then and Now
GG Allin and the Murder Junkies + Monotonix
Orange Records | Redferns
Allin's mission was to make rock 'n' roll dangerous again. He did so by taking huge amounts of drugs, pooping on stage and then smearing it on himself, rolling around in broken glass, destroying equipment, assaulting fans, indecent exposure -- basically being the most awful punk rock person on the planet. Monotonix's singer Ami Shalev has set himself on fire, shoved his own microphone up his bum and jumped off a building mid-show, among other things. It's just a matter of time before he throws his feces at the audience.
DNA Evidence: GG Allin and the Murder Junkies' 'Savage South: Best of 1992' tour and Monotonix NXNE in-store set are equally unforgettable -- mostly for those on hand who weren't wearing safety goggles and armed with sanitizing gel.
