Nobel Prize–winning poet Derek Walcott helped singer Paul Simon pen lyrics for 'The Capeman,' a controversial musical about a Puerto Rican gang member sentenced to death at 16. But probably wishes he hadn't. The production cost $11 million, took almost a decade to reach the stage and was a monumental flop when it debuted on Broadway in 1998.
