Arcade Fire's Politics
Saturday Night Live
When Win Butler wore a red square in solidarity with Quebec's student protestors on Saturday Night Live, nobody blinked because the Montreal band had a personal connection to the unrest on their city's streets. Same goes for their charity work in support of Haiti, where band co-founder Régine Chassagne was born. While some bands throw their influence around willy-nilly, and can come off self-serving because of it, Arcade Fire always manage to seem utterly sincere when they decide to step-up.
