Spirit of the West's "Home For a Rest"
Alec Watson
Though Spirit of the West didn’t outlast the '90s, the Celtic-influenced rockers established a uniquely Canadian presence at the height of the grunge era largely thanks to this surprisingly slamdance-friendly 1990 song about being "gone for a month and I’ve been drunk since I left." It was even voted the 22nd greatest Canadian song of all time, despite being about a drinking binge in the UK.
