Your band’s name is A Great Big Pile of Leaves. What’s that all about?
Tyler Soucy: "It was one of the first band names that our guitarist-singer Pete [Weiland] had suggested. As far as what the name means to us, we grew up in New England, so raking up the leaves in our yards and then jumping into the piles was a pretty fond childhood memory that we shared. I think our music is geared towards trying to keep those feelings alive as adults."
Can you explain how the conversation went when you guys decided that, yes, “A Great Big Pile of Leaves” would be an awesome name for a band?
"We honestly went through a lot of different ideas for names, did our research online, and decided that 'A Great Big Pile of Leaves' stood out among the rest. There wasn't anything else close to it as far as other bands went, and after a month or two of mulling over names, that one really resonated with us and the music we were writing."
