Your band's name is Today I Caught the Plague. What's that all about?
Dave Journeaux: "Well, that's all about this thing called music, really; it pulls at us incessantly, and years ago, we went ahead and gave it the nod to direct us. Want it simple? Music is our plague. As such, you can think of our name as a statement of surrender to it; a dedication to lifelong musicianship, for better or worse. And so to summarize, and coincidentally paraphrase the Hokey Pokey, that, my friend, is what it's all about."
How do you explain your band name to people you meet at house parties?
"Explaining our band name at house parties generally goes something like this: 'Interesting story, actually, it stems from an ancient and long lost quote, said to be from the discarded playwritings of one William Shakespeare, which I'll tell you more about after this off-key, group ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ singalong -- 'galileo, figaro, MAGNIFICO-oh-oh-oh!' And cue unruliness."
