The Wainwright clan has aired their grievances and love publicly through the decades. Patriarch Loudon Wainwright III penned "Rufus Is a Tit Man" when his son was just a baby, and wrote the heartbreaking "Hitting You" about losing his temper and slapping his daughter Martha. With Loudon gone on tour, the children grew up resenting him, and both let their feelings be known in songs: Rufus' "Dinner at Eight" talks of wanting to make papa cry, while Martha's "Bloody Mother F---ing A--hole" has a title that speaks for itself. Thankfully, the relationships have healed over time, and the family often performs together.
