In 2009, Mackenzie Phillips claimed that when she was 19 years old, her father, Papa John Phillips of Mamas and the Papas fame, raped her while they were both high on drugs. The cocaine-fueled incestuous relationship allegedly lasted for 10 years, with Mackenzie saying that it became more consensual over time as a "sort of Stockholm Syndrome, where you begin to love your captor." She says she ended the relationship after getting pregnant and then having an abortion, paid for by her father, who died in 2001. Mackenzie's half-sister, singer Chynna Phillips, says she believes the story, while many members of the famous family, including ex-wife Michelle and other half-sister Bijou, say it's a lie.
