Back to Daniel Pujol's Nashville Picks
Rocketown
Michael Cheng
"The only reason I was able to move to Nashville was because Rocketown gave me a part-time job. They also taught me how to run shows by letting me work theirs, so it was easy to model a house venue after running those shows. They let me tour and come back. They're sort of family-ish to me. It's like a second parent's house or something. I've worked there part-time since 2005. They gave me space to record, taught me about shows, exposed me to 'culture' and saved me from being an artistically frustrated death-driving redneck."
