After dropping out as a 16-year-old, Earle went on to a successful music career that was nearly derailed by his heroin addiction and incarceration on drug and weapons charges. He cleaned up, got his music back on track, has dabbled in acting and writing, and received an honorary degree from CUNY Law School for his anti-death penalty activism.
