Keystone, Hulton Archive
The Ramones were largely apolitical, especially for a punk band, but President Ronald Reagan's visit to a German cemetery that housed the bodies of SS soldiers who had helped run Nazi extermination camps spurned the Jewish Joey (born Jeffery Hymen) to action. Joey and DeeDee Ramone wrote "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg" to express their disappointment in their leader.
