The young "American Idol" sensation struggled long and hard with the decision to either pursue his blossoming music career or take the two-year hiatus that fulfilling his LDS mission would require. He decided to take the trip and explained how hard the decision was to his fans. "It's been a very emotional last week," he said. "It's a decision everyone knows about but it's a very personal thing and I wanted to keep it that way. So I hope you guys respect that, and you guys have so I appreciate that."
