The husband-and-wife members of the Minnesota-based indie rock band are practicing LDS members, with Sparhawk being born into the church and Parker converting. Despite church doctrine, the pair spoke out against their home state's proposed amendment to ban gay marriage and revealed that they employed a gay nanny for years. They also agreed that Romney would not be a good president because of his views and the "out of touch" people he's hired.
