Where do we even start with the epic 50 year sage of the Beach Boys brothers Carl, Dennis and Brian Wilson and their cousin Mike Love? To start with, Dennis had a brief friendship with Charles Manson and then drowned in 1983, when he went diving to recover items he had thrown off his yacht three years earlier. Then we have Brian Wilson's well-documented mental issues and creative differences with the rest of the band. And, looming above it all is the Emperor Palpatine-like specter of Mike Love and his many legal and creative battles with his former, present and future bandmates. Carl, the relatively drama-free Wilson, died of cancer in 1998.
