What are they? Borg.

Remember that episode of Star Trek: Next Generation called "I, Borg" where the crew adopts a lone Borg and Geordi names him "Hugh"? Daft Punk are kinda like that -- weird cybernetic humanoids who just want to assimilate -- except they use house music instead of weird latex 'n' tube outfits to get people onboard.
