When: January 1980
Re-affirming pot's effect on the brain, Paul McCartney (seen here leaving a courthouse after an unrelated copyright case) was caught with 7.7 ounces of marijuana at the Toyko airport after simply placing the bag of weed in his suitcase and making no attempt to conceal it. The Beatles member was jailed for eight days and deported back home, where fans found new meaning in the phrase, "Maybe I'm amazed."
