Before joining Death Cab for Cutie, the band who once rocked Seth Cohen's socks, Nick Harmer spent a few early '90s summers as a City of Tacoma sanitation worker -- or more specifically, for their composting and recycling department, where he collected waste and tossed it into the recycling truck. Perhaps that's where inspiration "The Sound of Settling" came from.
