Rob Halford Comes Out

Coming out as gay, bisexual or transgender takes a lot of courage, but we have to give an added amount of respect to Judas Priest's Rob Halford, because the metal world isn't the most gay-friendly place. Funnily enough, Halford's coming out story wasn't a big reveal -- he casually said "speaking as a gay man" in a 1998 interview with MTV, and the rest is history. We can't help but think that without Halford's admission, Life of Agony singer Mina Caputo might not have found so much acceptance from metal fans after her own transgender announcement in 2011.
