Under the stage name Sweet Micky, the keyboard player and singer declared himself 'the President of Compas,' a Haitian style of dance music. As Michel Martelly, the Haitian people elected him president of their country. The outlandish and prolific singer -- who actually appeared on fellow musical presidential hopeful Wyclef Jean's solo album, 'Wyclef Jean Presents The Carnival featuring the Refugee Allstars' -- was elected in April of 2011 and Sweet Mickey retired from compas to run his country.
