Andry Rajoelina is almost an overnight political success story. Beginning his career as a DJ in Antananarivo, Madagascar, Rajoelina soon established his own advertising agency and radio station, Viva Radio. Building on that success, he then became mayor of the city. During the 2009 Malagasy political crisis, the DJ-cum-mayor was handed the presidency by the military, becoming the youngest head of state in Africa, and the third youngest in the world.
