Van Morrison keeps his personal life pretty close to the vest. But the biography Van Morrison: Inarticulate Speech of the Heart contains varying accounts of how deeply the singer was enmeshed in Scientology during the 1980s. Truthaboutscientology.com lists Morrison in an official publication dating back to early 1983. Although he thanked L. Ron Hubbard in the liner notes of his 1983 album, by 1986 his new record was titled No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.
