A few days before Thanksgiving in 1976, "Saturday Night Live" put on a special episode, featuring Paul Simon performing several songs, including two -- "Here Comes the Sun" and "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" -- with George Harrison. But the most memorable moment occurred when Simon opened the show, performing his hit "Still Crazy After All These Years" in a turkey outfit.
Halfway through the song, Simon told the band to stop because he was too embarrassed to continue. Then he left the stage, only to be greeted backstage by producer Lorne Michaels, who tried to encourage Simon to continue. The segment would become one of "SNL's" most popular sketches.
