SEAL Team Six is the most famous military unit in recent memory, but their tradition is actually rather short. While the U.S. Marine Corps has been around since 1775, the Navy SEALS (SEa, Air, Land) were only "activated" on Jan. 1, 1962, with SEAL Teams One and Two sent to support the Pacific and Atlantic fleets.
