Sure, the lead singer was Paul Di'Anno, not Bruce Dickinson. And yes, the band's now-iconic zombie punk mascot "Eddie" looked about as scary as a piece of beef jerky on the cover, but with this album Iron Maiden and the new wave of British heavy metal was officially upon us. The world would never headband the same again.
