August 19, 2008: Lady Gaga Releases 'The Fame' Album

It seems so long ago but it has only been four years since Lady Gaga burst onto the scene in her weird bodysuits and poker faces and The Fame album. At first everyone was, like, "she's a little strange." But by the time third single "LoveGame" and its disco stick-riding got to us, it was all "Oh, she is strange" and we just learned to accept it.

And then Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj were, like, "we want to pretend we're strange, too!" And they started wearing wigs.
