August 30, 1994: Oasis Release Debut Album 'Definitely Maybe'
Creation
The battling Gallagher brothers Liam and Noel introduced themselves to the world with Oasis' debut album Definitely Maybe. Featuring loutish hits like "Rock 'n' Roll Star," "Live Forever," "Supersonic" and "Cigarettes & Alcohol," the album hit number one in the UK and made the band internationally.
Definitely Maybe routinely makes those "best of" lists everyone does, including ranking as the third best British album ever made in a 2006 NME poll, and first overall in a similar poll conducted by Q and HMV in 2008.
