August 7, 1997: Garth Brooks Attracts More Than a Million to Central Park

Country star Garth Brooks held a free concert in New York's Central Park that attracted an estimated one million people. The concert also attracted an audience of 14.6 million people to watch it live on HBO.
A concert two years later by Chris Gaines attracted seven people (note: this may not actually have happened).
