December 28, 1983: Beach Boys Member Dennis Wilson Dies

Dennis Wilson, a founding Beach Boys member and brother to Brian and Carl Wilson, died when he drowned after diving into the water in Marina Del Rey, California.
In an ill-advised misadventure, the extremely intoxicated Wilson dove into the water to search for items he had thrown overboard three years earlier.
Wilson was also an acquaintance of cult murderer Charles Manson, whose "Manson Family" lived in Wilson's home for a time.
