December 27, 1967: Leonard Cohen Releases First Album
Evening Standard, Hulton Archive
Grumble-voiced poet Leonard Cohen releases his first album, Songs of Leonard Cohen. Though not initially a huge seller, the album -- which featured "Suzanne" and "So Long, Marianne" -- would eventually make its mark with the literary set. Nowadays, if you wear a black turtleneck or are pursuing a liberal arts degree this is a must-own album.
