February 15, 1975: Gino Vannelli Invades Soul Train

Long before Robin Thicke and Jamie Lidell were a thing Montreal-born singer Gino Vannelli broke a unique color barrier, becoming the first white feature performer on R&B/soul show "Soul Train."
Also on this day, in 1969 Florida hairstylist Vickie Jones was arrested for impersonating Aretha Franklin during a performance at a club in Fort Myers, FL. She was so good many in the audience believed it was really Franklin.
