February 12, 1967: Rolling Stones Witchhunt Begins
Chris Ware, Hulton Archive
The most hated people in Britain (by the stodgy establishment, at least), the Rolling Stones, experience what will be one of many run-ins with the law in the coming years when Keith Richards gets busted for drugs. The public was clearly on the Stones' side, believing the charges the result of police harassment. A judge agreed, dropping the charges on appeal.
