Remember mashups? Nine years ago they peaked when Danger Mouse unleashed the Grey Album, a mash of Jay-Z's Black Album and the Beatles' White Album, as a free download.
Everyone listened to the album three times as a screw you to EMI who blocked the Grey Album from getting an official release, then everyone went back to listening to the original records which were better.
