After a series of downwardly spiraling misadventures pop star Britney Spears is sent to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric help.
Eventually her parents would be granted conservatorship over all her assets -- they basically adult babysit her and her business interests -- which is still in effect today.
