January 16, 1996: Getting Shot at in Margaritaville

"Margaritaville" singer was shot at by Jamaican police while in his seaplane Hemisphere Dancer because they thought he was a drug smuggler. Buffett was carrying special cargo at the time -- U2 singer Bono. Both of them were unhurt and Buffett ended up monetizing the misadventure by turning it into the song "Jamaica Mistaica."
Today is also R&B baby-makin' slow jam queen Sade's birthday.
