January 30, 1969: Beatles Perform on a Rooftop

The Beatles performed on the rooftop of their Apple Records office in London, England. It was the last time the band would ever perform in public. More importantly, it gave every band not quite as good as the Beatles (U2) the idea to pull the same stunt during promotional campaigns.
Additionally, on this date in 1973 KISS made their live debut in Queens, New York.
