January 11, 1964: Whisky-a-Go-Go Opens In Hollywood

Rock 'n' roll institution Whisky-a-Go-Go opens at Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California. In the '60s it would become the place to play on the west coast. The Doors were once the house band and the likes of The Byrds and Buffalo Springfield also made their name there.
