Beatles member Paul McCartney caused a big-time scandal when he admitted to Life Magazine that he had tried LSD on four separate occasions. This, of course, should have been obvious to anyone who had listened to Revolver when it was released the year. And besides, didn't the Beatles care more about speed anyway?
