June 24, 2003: Beyonce Releases First Solo Album

Destiny's Child member Beyoncé Knowles releases her debut solo album Dangerously in Love and basically becomes the biggest thing in pop music until Lady Gaga hits the scene a few years later. The video for #1 hit "Crazy in Love" from the album featured a tank-topped, short-shorted, gyrating Beyonce doing what the Philadelphia Inquirer characterized as shaking "every inch of her famously photogenic goddess frame."
