June 5, 1977: Alice Cooper Involved in Rat-on-Snake Murder

Avid golfer and "Welcome to My Nightmare" singer Alice Cooper's on-stage companion, a giant boa constrictor, died when it was bitten by a rat that was supposed to be its breakfast. Cooper had to hold auditions to find a less-ironic (in the Alanis sense) replacement stage snake.
