May 6, 1994: Pearl Jam Versus Ticketmaster

Nobody likes those sketchy service fees that get tacked on to the price of concert tickets. But in 1994, when they were arguably the biggest rock band in the world, Pearl Jam threw down and actually did something about it. They cancelled a potentially lucrative summer tour and filed a complaint with the U.S. Justice Department against Ticketmaster for holding an anti-competitive ticketing monopoly. The Justice Department never charged Ticketmaster and to this day most big shows still have those service fees for tickets.
