May 8, 1911: Blues Legend Robert Johnson Was Born
Sony Legacy
Popular myth has it that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil at a crossroads Mississippi in order to become a master blues musician. He got what he asked for -- his playing style has gone on to influence Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters and more. Unfortunately, he was part of the 27 Club, though, so he never would get any money or recognition while he lived.
