October 30, 2002: Jam Master Jay Murdered

Jam Master Jay, the DJ for first generation rap act Run-DMC, was shot and killed in a Queens, New York recording studio.
It's believed that Jay's shooting was connected to the many rap feuds that were ongoing a decade ago. Ronald "Tenad" Washington was named a suspect in the case, though the actual shooter has never officially been identified.
