November 1, 1994: Nirvana Release 'MTV Unplugged in New York' Album

Nirvana released their album MTV Unplugged in New York. The 14 song record featured the audio recordings from the band's acoustic MTV special of the same name.
The recording session featured the band performing six cover songs, including one originally written by David Bowie, three by the Meat Puppets, one by Lead Belly, and one by the Vaselines.
The album hit number one in eight countries.
