September 16, 1996: Bjork's Suicide Acid Bomber

A 21 year-old man named Ricardo Lopez was found dead in his Hollywood apartment after committing suicide. This in itself wasn't so much criminal as it was tragic. However, one of Lopez's last acts before his death was to mail an acid bomb to the London management offices of Icelandic singer Bjork. She was unharmed.

Also, on this date in 1977 former T Rex singer Marc Bolan was killed in a car accident.
