September 19, 1995: P.M. Dawn DJ Doesn't Find State of Bliss + George Michael & James Brown
Evening Standard, Hulton Archive
On this date in 1995 P.M. Dawn's DJ JC Eternal was arrested on charges of sexual assault and child abuse after an alleged affair with his 14 year-old cousin. He was released on $10,000 bail.
Meanwhile, in 2002, James Brown got sued by his own daughters for over $1 million. Deanna Brown Thomas and Dr. Yamma Brown Lumar said they helped co-write a number of his songs but hadn't seen any of the royalties. The pair claim the soul legend was mad at them because they had him committed in a psychiatric hospital to cure his painkiller addiction.
Finally, in 2008, ex-Wham singer George Michael was arrested in a public toilet for possessing crack cocaine and marijuana. The restroom was a noted gay cruising location.
