September 5, 1986: Dire Straits Get Awards For Nothing

In a strange case of life catching up to art, Dire Straits won an MTV award the Best Video category for the song "Money For Nothing," which prominently featured lines about getting your video played on MTV.
So basically Dire Straits wrote a song about MTV, then MTV rewarded Dire Straits for it.
