Hit-making genre-hopping piano man Ray Charles was born in Albany, Georgia. The singer, who lost his sight at age 7, had more than 30 US Top 40 singles, including #1 hits "Georgia on my Mind," "Hit the Road Jack" and "I Can't Stop Loving You."
