October 17, 1995: This Was a Low: Oasis vs. Blur Feud

During an interview with The Observer magazine Noel Gallagher from Oasis said,
"I wish they would catch AIDS and die," referring to Blur's Damon Albarn and Alex James.

At the time the two British bands -- the working man rockers in Oasis and the art school dandies in Blur -- were in a heated feud over who the biggest band in the country was.

Gallagher eventually retracted his statement.
